ARC Ledmore Forest Report

In 2008 the Forestry Commission indicated their intention to sell off their land at Ledmore Forest. They approached all appropriate local community groups to investigate a potential community acquisition of this ground under the National Forest Land Scheme. With the support of the other Assynt community groups it was agreed that the Assynt Foundation would explore the potential and level of support for a community purchase.

The Assynt Foundation commissioned Assynt Research and Consultancy (ARC) to conduct an independent research project, through the SCARF (Scottish Community Action Research Fund) programme.

Between October 2008 and April 2009 Assynt Research and Consultancy trained and used members of the community to conduct the research project to explore the feelings of the community about Ledmore Forest and their views on its possible community purchase.
