SPORTING AND LEISURE EQUIPMENT FOR HIRE
The Assynt Foundation has a range of sporting and leisure equipment available for hire. This equipment is available to those staying in Glencanisp Lodge, visitors to the Foundation's Estate, and at a reduced local rate to residents of the Assynt area.
Kayaks
We have 6 sea/touring kayaks, 1 double sea/touring kayak and 6 general purpose kayaks.
We have an inflatable 3.6m Zodiac inflatable RIB/safety boat complete with 8hp outboard motor. All boats come with safety bouyancy aids, oars, spraydecks, and helmets as appropriate.
We have 9 good quality fly rods and 6 fly reels, Flies and leaders can be purchased in Lochinver. We hope to be able to supply these directly in the near future.
Fishing permits and fishing boats are also available. Permits can be arranged in advance by the Assynt Foundation or else obtained at short notice from the Assynt Foundation office at Glencanisp or from other stockists in Lochinver. (All fishing on the Assynt Foundation estate is under the umbrella of the Assynt Angling Group.)
Deerstalking riflesThe Estate also has two full bore rifles (by Styer Mannlicher) suitable for those booking deerstalking with one of our professional stalkers.
