Assynt Foundation Staff Report June 2011

Log Building:
3 log builders have visited the sites this week. Deadline is Friday, 10th June, for log building tenders.
If we receive sufficient tender returns for the log building/training, we can appoint a log builder. 3 of those invited to tender have said they hope to get tenders to us.
[Tenders were received and evaluated, and a meeting is being arranged with preferred contractor to finalise details. (AP Aug 11)]

Social Investment Scotland Loan & associated projects:
We still need a copy of ID documentation from one director, as per recent email. Once that’s done we can get the further requested loan.

Still no word back from LEADER development officer, after initial enquiry form was sent to LEADER regarding a potential application for project/s to carry out works on Ledbeg House & Byre, Stalker’s Bothy, and the Old Boathouse (and also Tubeg House Bothy creation, which MBA would be co-funding, rather than the SIS loan). I’ll continue to chase up. [Have now discussed projects with LEADER officer. (AP Aug 11)]

ERDF inspection:
This is happening on Wednesday 22nd June.
[Went well. Some documents still to locate and pass on. Have requested them from our design team. (AP Aug 11)]

HIE Meeting:
Anne Sutherland and Roy Kirk of HIE are to meet with us, probably on morning of Tuesday 5th July. (See emails.)

Strategic Forest Plan:
Work ongoing.

Hydro-Energy Feasibility Study:
New costings supplied by Mott MacDonald. We will apply to new loan scheme through Community Energy Scotland.

Deer Fence & deer management SRDP application:
Proposal hoped to be committed by 15th June to catch the next RPAC.

Woodchip Boiler & solar panels:
Boiler is running smoothly, touch wood(chip). Leak from solar panel system is now thought to be fixed.

Other stuff ongoing:

AF Estate Plan: Still to be updated.

Director Training: Still to be arranged.
