Assynt Foundation Staff Report August 2010Lodge Redevelopment Project:
Problems with woodfuel boiler hopefully now fixed, by Mark fine-tuning trip control.
Problems with losing heat through the solar panels now hopefully fixed.
Atlantic Boilers have commissioned back-up boiler.
Work connecting deer larder drain to septic tank is ongoing.
Related Finance:
BLF are now dealing with us directly. They have requested information on any remaining works we hope to do as part of the redevelopment project.
We will need to tell them proposed timescales and costs for the woodchip store, the log building, and anything else outwith main contract. Alongside this, we have to request an extension beyond September.
Energy Saving Trust: A site inspection and paperwork and further docs sent.
Green Energy Trust: £6,382 grant has been received.
Log Building / Training:
Still need to firm up design / specification / timescale plans for the building, and then seek quotes for the work and training and apply for match funding. See above re BLF also.
SRDP:
Strategic Deer Fence: Awaiting site visit to electric deer fence in Angus, then report from DCS(?) before proposal can be submitted.
Forest Plan: Proposal submitted. Should be committed soon.
Tubeg Bothy Creation: Now won’t get a decision until Spring RPAC, so project postponed until late spring/early summer 2012 (subject to securing funding).
Hydro-energy Feasibility Studies:
Following tendering process, 3 tenderers were interviewed, and one has now been appointed, subject to grants being secured to cover costs of the feasibility studies.
